Overview

A key leader in the digital organization, the Site Content Director is responsible for driving the online customer experience through robust site content and accurate and timely product displays.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop a cohesive site content strategy and oversee digital operations
    • Oversee the management of the site content calendar and process to drive user experience and sales across all digital touch points
    • Partner with Merchandising & Creative Marketing to plan content launches and refreshes
    • Partner with Digital Analytics to accurately implement and measure the success of new pages, links, and content and communicate with Merchandising and Creative Web Design on success and opportunities
    • Be highly knowledgeable of best practices, competitor sites and our own customer behavior to drive continuous improvement and innovation in our digital experience
    • Partner with Digital Marketing counterparts to align strategies and use digital content to support and drive measurable marketing program results
    • Partner with Product Management to make recommendations for improved UX and site functionality on a continuous basis
  • Manage Daily Digital Updates and Release Management
    • Oversee the day to day activities of the Ecom Operations team
    • Manage a team of front-end developers that code daily site content updates, ensuring we accurately code the site and we are exposing cutting edge content features and functionality
    • Ultimately responsible for successful and accurate daily digital updates – content, product, linking
    • Partner with Information Technology on improving processes that help ensure seamless execution of all data loads, and digital updates
    • Be actively involved in all digital releases, and manage the UAT process and signoff
  • Vendor Management
    • Oversee and own vendor relationships, including but not limited to; Translations, International Shipping, Ratings and Reviews….
    • Develop strategies and partnerships that maximize our ROI with key vendors
    • Evaluate new systems, tools and vendors that we can partner with to drive sales and improve efficiency
  • Oversee product onboarding for all categories
    • Ensure sales catalog is built in WebSphere CMC and the team is accurately processing images, copy and categorizations
    • Collaborate with Merchandising to create robust outfitting and cross selling across digital
    • Review on site and paid search terms to update product tagging
    • Review product selling and site analytics and make recommendations and influence Merchant teams on sequencing, categorization and cross-selling
    • Monitor end-to-end process to ensure that all product is live on the site according to the seasonal floorset calendar
    • Work with cross-functional partners to meet the SLAs for product not on the site with available inventory in the distribution center
    • Partner with cross-functional leaders to enhance the website experience and improve internal efficiencies and processes through the proposal and implementation of site and system enhancements
  • Ownership for the digital user experience
    • Communicate and present high level strategies regarding updates to web navigation and taxonomy that will drive improved customer experience and incremental sales
    • Develop and implement a growth strategy for site functionality
    • Provide direction and guidance on both short term actions and long term strategies by leveraging site analytics & marketing results
    • Leverage both customer insights and analytics to optimize online user experience
    • Required to have a high level of understanding of our tools and templates to determine where gaps may exist within the customer experience and provide visibility to leadership
  • Responsible for people management and establishing a highly skilled team
    • Attract, develop and retain digital talent and future digital leaders
    • Drive and set priorities for the team
    • Eliminate barriers and roadblocks to deliver outcomes for team
    • Ensure collaboration and consistency across teams through sharing best practices and key learnings
    • Act as a change agent, establishing a an engaging and collaborative culture

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience in Site Merchandising / Site Content within an Ecommerce retail organization
  • 7+ years directly leading teams
  • Experience with managing User Experience enhancements
  • Experience with WebSphere CMC
  • Experience with Omniture
  • Experience with HTML / CSS
