The Director, Learning and Organizational Development is responsible for the assessment, design and delivery of our global learning and development strategy, as well as activities and interventions that will build a strong organization at the individual, team and company level. This position is responsible for mapping learning needs against our competency model and writing and delivering interactive, multichannel and pedagogically sound learning opportunities.  A member of the corporate Human Resources team, this position reports to the Vice President, Learning Change and Communications.


Key Accountabilities:

Learning and Development

  • Assess learning and development areas of opportunities and needs across all levels. Identify and prioritize mission critical skills. Recommend, develop and implement customized learning strategies to meet short and long-term capability/skill requirements to effectively execute TCP’s business strategy
  • Build strong relationships across the HR team and TCP leadership in order to inform, support and execute L&D strategy
  • Manage and lead the Learning and Development team including the Technical Instructional Designer and any consulting resources
  • Partner with Director, OCM to provide expertise and resources to deliver on the learning component of change management activities throughout the business
  • Create evaluation mechanisms to test learning efficacy and create opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure company compliance for all regulatory training
  • Manage global L & D calendar, invitations and tracking


Organizational Development

  • Design and develop quality organizational development frameworks, processes, and tools to be leveraged throughout the HR function for assigned business units.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions that will drive strategic organizational growth
  • Partner with HRBPs to build and implement new, more agile and effective organizations
  • Develop and facilitate offsites for Leadership teams as needed to build teams, analyze business needs and provide strategic planning

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s strongly preferred
  • Retail experience a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in a Learning and Development/Organizational Development role
  • Instructional design, platform training and individual coaching experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • History of developing relationships and working cross-departmentally to achieve desired outcomes
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously, as role requires strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
  • Strategic thinking and ability to articulate that strategy to multiple audiences
  • Experience creating visually stimulating multichannel training using Microsoft Office applications
  • Agile learner who is solution-oriented and tenacious
