The Front-End Web Development Manager will be responsible to lead & manage the conceptualizing interfaces, turning whiteboard sketches into working prototypes, and transforming design mockups into user interfaces. This position will manage the team of front-end developers designing and coding for various web-based applications and create code that will integrate seamlessly with other technologies to achieve business goals.  


  • Lead and manage team of front-end developers by providing technical leadership, guidance, and effective delegation.
  • Supervise and mentor direct reports and administer goals and reviews.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of visual design concepts to provide leadership perspective on front and backend technologies
  • Oversee, participate and maintain The Children’s Place website in design, architecture, documentation, development, debugging, and deployment efforts while addressing cross browser and cross platform concepts and concerns 
  • Ensure the optimize performance of front-end applications, managing JS, JQuery, HTML/HTML5, and CSS file structures within application to optimize page-load performance and code maintainability
  • Be able to emulate existing HTML schemes and create new ones that will integrate well with existing code
  • Be able to integrate created code with other technologies, including web services, java back-end systems, content management systems, etc.
  • Ensure to develop code that upholds web standards, accessibility, and usability while also being fast and efficient
  • Stay abreast on the latest in front-end development practices and technology (HTML5, CSS3, responsive web design, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with backend developers and creative designers to create new site features as needed and to troubleshoot and solve problems


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7 -10 years of experience in front-end web development
  • 2 years of management experience leading a development team
  • 7 years of experience with HTML and CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Extensive experience in developing and troubleshooting on multi-platform cross-browser compatibility IE, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on Mac, PC, tablets and mobile devices
  • Require hands-on technical skills



  • Demonstrated accountability, sound decision making, analytical thoroughness, clear and concise communications, and the ability to lead and mentor team members
  • Familiarity with best in class web and mobile development practices
  • Knowledge of SharePoint design and development a plus
  • Knowledge of current browsers, their behaviors, differences, and compatibility issues and how to code for them to create a seamless front end user experience
  • Knowledge of web image optimization and compression
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in technical and non-technical terms with cross-functional partners
  • Must be able to manage relationships with cross-functional partners
  • Strong attention to detail to keep sites as error-free as possible
